With reference to the recent appointment of A. E. Harvey, formerly an Assistant Keeper in the Trinity House Service, to the post of Light Keeper in the Hong Kong Light House Service, and to the similar appointment of Keepers G. F. Taylor, E. A. Johnson and W. F. Hast in 1900,
I am now directed to acquaint you, for the information of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, that, if and when these men finally retire under conditions qualifying them for pension under Colonial Law, and with not less than ten years total service, they are entitled to the following superannuation allowances from the General Lighthouse Fund in respect of their Trinity House Service, the payment of these amounts to commence from the date of their ultimate retirement from the Public Service.
